We photographed in October. It was a cool, overcast day by the Atlantic, but that soft light worked beautifully for the photos. Without harsh sun or strong shadows, the beach, ocean, and family could stay the focus. The result felt calm, natural, and warm enough, despite the autumn weather.
Guincho Beach is one of my favorite places near Cascais for this type of photoshoot. It is close to the town, but it feels more open and wild than many other beaches in the area. The beach is popular with surfers and people learning to surf, yet there is often enough space to find a quieter spot for a family session.
One of the things that makes Guincho special is the variety of backgrounds in a small area. We used the wide sandy beach, the Atlantic waves, and a nearby rocky viewpoint with a beautiful view over the coastline. From there, you can see the scale of the beach and the powerful ocean waves rolling in.
For a family with a baby, a photoshoot does not need complicated poses. The best photographs come from simple things: parents holding their child close, looking at him, making him laugh, or just enjoying a few peaceful minutes together. Timofey was the centre of the story, and the beach gave us a beautiful, natural setting around him.
The result was a sunny October family memory by the Atlantic, full of warmth, even on a cool day.
