Honeymoon
Photographer in Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra

Your first trip as a married couple, photographed the way it actually felt – early light, quiet streets, no posing.

Honeymoon Photographer

You got married. Now you are in Lisbon, and this is the one week when the two of you are not organising anything for anyone. A honeymoon session is not a second wedding shoot – nobody is watching, there is no schedule to keep, and nothing has to be photographed.

So we treat it as a walk you would have taken anyway. Coffee, a couple of hills, a view you did not expect. I stay out of the way and photograph what happens between you, because on a honeymoon that is the whole story.

Most couples I photograph here are in Lisbon for a few days and have one free morning. That is enough. One hour of good light is worth more than an afternoon of trying.

Dimas Frolov Profile photo (small)

Hi, I am Dimas. I have been photographing people for over 19 years – more than ten of them in Thailand, where a large part of the work was couples who had flown in for exactly one week.

I live in Lisbon now, and that same week keeps arriving. Honeymooners are a particular kind of client: the trip is short, the plan is loose, and the one thing nobody wants is to spend a morning of it working for a camera.

So I plan around the trip. I know which viewpoint is empty at seven and crowded at ten, where the light lands in November as opposed to June, and how far the coast really is when you have a dinner booked. That is most of what a honeymoon session needs – the photography part I have had a long time to get right.

Process How a honeymoon photo session in Lisbon works

01

Text me

Send me the dates you are in Lisbon, through the form below or any messenger. I will come back with the mornings that are free and what the light is doing that week
02

Preparing

We pick one area and one time slot, around your trip rather than across it. If your only free window is the middle of the day, we choose locations where that works instead of pretending it does not matter
03

Booking

The date is held with a small deposit. Honeymoon plans move, so tell me early if yours does and we shift the session rather than lose it
04

Shoot

We meet with coffee and walk. I give you very little to do, because instructions are what makes people look posed. About an hour and a half, and no part of it requires you to be a model
05

Editing & receiving

Colour and light corrected, skin left alone, Lisbon looking like Lisbon. The full gallery arrives within a week — and if you need a few frames before you fly home, ask and you get them the next day

Most common questions about photo shoots

I'm based in Lisbon, Portugal, but I travel for shoots – around Lisbon (Sintra, Cascais, Setúbal) and to other cities across Portugal and even abroad in Europe.
It's a mix – mostly light, documentary-style moments blended with guided, staged shots. I give direction when needed, suggest places and actions, then let people live the moment. That's how you get photos that feel real, relaxed, and not forced.

In Lisbon center – sunrise, almost no tourists. Beaches or parks are more flexible; you can shoot almost any time there.

A few helpful articles in my blog:

I offer several packages. One hour usually covers most sessions. For more outfits or wider locations, 1.5 hours is better. Two hours is the most relaxed option with lots of advantages.

Detailed packages you can see here: Rates for photography services.

Light or pastel colors, smart casual. Comfortable shoes are a must. Bring hats, scarves, and sunglasses – small things that change the mood.
One outfit is enough because I focus on you and your connection. If you want variety, keep it to 2–3 max.
That's my job – I guide you with simple actions and light direction so you feel comfortable. The result looks alive and natural.
Yes, if you allow me to publish your photos in my portfolio and on my social media. The discount amount and final price can be found on my pricing page.
I don't hard-cap the number. I deliver almost every good shot and remove only blinks, blurs, and misses. Minimum guarantee: 25 photos in the smallest package; larger packages include a lot more.
Usually within a couple of weeks. Absolute deadline: 3 weeks.
After editing, you will receive an online gallery where you can view your photos on any device, download them in high resolution, and easily share them with friends and family.
Bring a good mood and be on time – I handle the rest. If you have specific poses or angles, save examples on your phone and we'll recreate them.
Nikon Z6 III with a Nikon Z6 II as backup/second body. Both write to two cards simultaneously. Files go to a backed-up drive and then to the cloud during editing. Mostly natural light; flash if needed. Lenses: 35, 50, 85mm primes; 15–30, 70–200 zooms; 90mm macro.
We can try to move the date. As in my cancellation policy, the deposit is kept as a fee for holding the time.

Your honeymoon in Lisbon Photographed properly

A honeymoon photoshoot in Lisbon is not a wedding shoot in a different city. The dress is packed away, the guests have gone home, and for the first time in months nobody needs anything from you. What is left is the two of you in an unfamiliar place – and that is a far better thing to photograph than a pose.

Who books this

Mostly couples married a week or two earlier, somewhere else entirely, who chose Portugal for the trip that followed. Some are here for three days, some for two weeks. A few book the session before they land; more often someone writes on the second evening, once they have seen the light on the tiles and realised they want to keep it. Anniversaries and elopements fit the same session – the approach does not change.

When to shoot

Early. Lisbon at sunrise is a genuinely different city: Alfama is empty, the light comes in sideways along the streets, and the tram passes with nobody on it. The same viewpoint at noon has forty people on it and hard shadows. The hour before sunset is the second option and works well on the coast. If your trip only allows the middle of the day, we go where the shade is honest – courtyards, narrow streets, the water.

Where we go

Alfama and Graça for the old Lisbon everyone pictures, with the miradouros above them for the view. Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real for colour and doorways. The Atlantic coast – Guincho, Cascais, the cliffs past Sintra – for wind and space, about forty minutes out. Belém if you want the monuments in frame. We pick one area and walk it properly rather than driving between five and rushing all of them.

How the session goes

We meet where we agreed, usually with coffee. I explain almost nothing at the start, because instructions are what makes people stiff. We walk, you talk to each other, and I work around you. When something needs adjusting I say so in a sentence – where to stand, which way the light is – and then get out of the way again. Sessions run about an hour and a half. Nobody has ever needed to be a model.

What you get

A curated online gallery in full resolution, ready to download and share, with no watermarks and no per-photo charges. Editing is quiet: colour and light corrected, skin left alone, the city looking like the city. Delivery is normally within a week, and if you need three or four images immediately – for the people at home who have been waiting – say so and you get them the next day.

Booking around a trip

Tell me the dates you are in Lisbon and I will tell you which mornings are still open and where the light will be at that time of year. That is usually the whole conversation. Honeymoons are short and rarely planned to the hour, so the session bends around the trip and not the other way round.
