Before and afterReal estate photo retouching

Five interiors, each shown twice: the frame as the camera recorded it and the photo the client received. Drag the slider across each one to compare.

Most of the difference comes from three things: the windows, the sky and the colour of the walls. These are exactly what makes interiors hard to shoot in Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra and Setúbal: strong sun, wide views and white walls that take on every colour around them. Each editing step is explained in detail on the photo editing page.

Living room with a sea view

The washed-out sky and sea come back from a second exposure, the TV gets a picture, and the white floor loses its grey cast.

Bathroom with a window

In the original the window is pure white and the walls have a green tint. After editing the view is back and white is white again.

Bedroom opening onto a terrace

The sky, the sea and the pool return, while the curtains and the bedspread keep their real colours.

Open-plan kitchen and living room

The whole far wall is glass, so without blending exposures the view disappears into white.

Bedroom with two windows

A flat grey sky turns blue, the room gets warmer, and the TV is no longer a black rectangle.
