Weddings Destination wedding Jesse & Sara. Getting ready, ceremony, reception October 8th, 2023
Jesse and Sara's destination wedding began with a quiet moment together, soft light, and Sara's veil moving in the breeze. Before the celebrations started, the villa felt calm and full of anticipation.
Sara spent the morning getting ready with the women closest to her. There were final touches, helping hands, and small smiles before she put on her dress.
The preparations were full of beautiful details: jewellery, fabric, flowers, and the people around Sara making sure everything was ready. Nothing felt rushed or overly staged.
At the same time, Jesse was getting ready with his closest people. The mood was relaxed, with a few quiet moments before he went to wait for Sara.
The ceremony space was prepared with white flowers, flowing fabric, and an open view towards the sea. It was elegant, but still intimate enough to keep the focus on the couple.
Guests gathered around the ceremony area while Jesse waited at the altar. The warm light and ocean backdrop made the whole setting feel like a true destination wedding.
Then Sara arrived. Walking down the aisle with her father, she brought a wave of emotion to the ceremony, especially when Jesse saw her for the first time.
Jesse and Sara stood together beneath the arch, surrounded by their friends and family. Their ceremony was simple, personal, and full of honest emotion.
They held hands, exchanged rings, and listened to the words that marked the beginning of their marriage. I also photographed the reactions of their guests, because those moments are part of the story too.
After the ceremony, there were congratulations, hugs, and plenty of smiles. The guests celebrated with the couple while the sea and the flowers stayed in the background of every frame.
We made group photographs with the people who travelled to celebrate with Jesse and Sara, then gave the couple a little time for portraits. The views around the villa gave us space for both classic photographs and more natural moments.
Later, Jesse and Sara walked together near the water. The open sky, the coastline, and the relaxed pace of the afternoon made these photographs feel quiet and intimate.
As the light became softer, we created more portraits around the villa. Sara’s dress, the veil, and the evening sun added a romantic feeling without needing much direction.
The reception space was ready for dinner, with long tables, warm lights, and details that made the celebration feel personal. Guests could finally sit down, talk, and enjoy the evening together.
There were speeches, laughter, and emotional moments between family and friends. A wedding dinner is often where the whole day slows down and people have time to share what the couple means to them.
Later, the celebration moved to the dance floor. Jesse and Sara danced together, then their guests joined them and the energy changed completely.
The wedding cake, the music, and the dancing became part of one big celebration. Nothing felt formal for the sake of it. Everyone was simply having a good time together.
The night ended with movement, music, and joyful photographs of Jesse and Sara surrounded by their people. As a Wedding Photographer Lisbon, I love documenting this full story, from the quiet morning to the final moments on the dance floor.
That's it, the photos are over... The End :)
