An engagement photoshoot is a simple way to mark this moment together, without turning it into a staged performance. Lisbon gives us narrow streets, tiled facades, viewpoints and warm Atlantic light, so the setting already does a lot of the work.
I usually treat the session as a relaxed walk. We choose a route, leave space for coffee, pauses and small moments, and I guide you only when it helps. The photographs should feel close to how the morning actually felt.
Whether you have just got engaged, are travelling to Portugal to celebrate, or want photographs before the wedding planning takes over, one good hour in the right light is often enough.

Hey, I'm Dimas, a professional photographer based in Lisbon. I have more than 19 years of experience photographing couples, weddings and travel sessions in different countries.
For engagement sessions, I focus on the small things that make a couple recognisable: how you walk together, how you look at each other, when you laugh, when you go quiet for a second.
Most people I photograph are not used to being in front of a camera. I keep the session calm, give simple direction and leave enough room for the photos to feel like you.

I offer several packages. One hour usually covers most sessions. For more outfits or wider locations, 1.5 hours is better. Two hours is the most relaxed option with lots of advantages.

Your engagement in Lisbon Natural, relaxed and easy to be in
An engagement session in Lisbon should feel lighter than a wedding day. There are no guests to manage and no strict schedule to follow. It is just the two of you, a beautiful city, and enough direction to help you feel comfortable.
Why choose Lisbon for engagement photos
Lisbon works well for engagement photos because it has variety within a short walk: tiled facades, old stairways, iron balconies, quiet corners and wide views over the Tagus. Alfama, Mouraria and Graça are good for a classic Lisbon mood. If you want something greener or more dramatic, Sintra, Guincho and Cabo da Roca are close enough for the same session.
The best time
Early morning is usually the safest choice. The streets are quieter, the viewpoints are still calm, and the light is softer. Sunset can also work well, especially near the river or on the Atlantic coast, but it depends more on the season, traffic and the place we choose.
Where we go
We choose one area and give it enough time, instead of rushing between too many locations. A classic route can start in Alfama and finish closer to the river. In Sintra, Monserrate Palace gives us gardens and architecture. On the coast, the cliffs bring wind, movement and a wider sense of space.
How we work together
Most couples are not used to being photographed. That is normal. I give simple directions: where to walk, where to stand, how to turn toward the light. Then I leave room for real gestures and conversation, so the photos do not look forced.
What you receive
After the session, you receive a private online gallery with edited high-resolution files. There are no watermarks or per-photo upsells. You can share the photos with family, use them for wedding announcements, or print them in any size you need.
