Encontrei algumas citações atribuídas a fotógrafos e artistas conhecidos e quero partilhá-las consigo. Escolhi apenas aquelas que realmente me tocaram, por isso a lista não é muito longa. Ainda assim, cada uma destas frases é importante para mim, porque reflete ideias com as quais me identifico e com as quais concordo plenamente.

Antes de mais, quero partilhar algumas frases que me ficaram na memória, embora a sua autoria não seja clara. Tentei encontrar os autores originais destas citações, mas nem sempre foi possível. Algumas permanecem anónimas, outras aparecem atribuídas a vários fotógrafos diferentes. A mesma frase, por vezes, surge ligada a autores distintos. Por isso, se tiver alguma confirmação fiável sobre a autoria de alguma delas, terei todo o gosto em acrescentá-la.

Artista e fotógrafo humanista francês, Henri Cartier-Bresson é considerado um mestre da fotografia espontânea e um dos primeiros grandes utilizadores do filme de 35 mm. A câmara tornou-se mais leve, mais rápida e mais discreta, permitindo fotografar sem a rigidez dos equipamentos pesados do passado. Por isso, é frequentemente associado ao nascimento da fotografia de reportagem e de rua. Em 1947, fundou a agência Magnum juntamente com Robert Capa, George Rodger e David Seymour.
